Unique find. Signed by artist James Niehues. Grand Targhee large ski
trail map from the base area. It measures appr. 8.3' long and 4.2' high.
It is in great condition. It is made out of aluminum so it is fairly light
and fairly heavy for it's size. This sign was at the base by the
Dreamcatcher lift for years. It depicts a really great view of the Tetons
and their height. People would use their fingers or poles to point out
where they have skied or wanted to ski. There is some minor scratching in
a few areas where poles have scraped on it. There is marginal paint losses
in one corner. There were only three of these; one at each lift. One is
at a ski shop in Driggs, Idaho. When they changed some of the runs names
and realized that the top of the mountain was not 10,000 feet they decided
to put up new signs. The summit elevation is actually 9862 feet when they
did their GPS measurements. This is a one of a kind, great sign for a
Targhee skier.
