A wonderful example of the variety in snowshoe and snowshoe design. These snowshoes were made by the Chestnut Canoe Company for longer trail hikes. The label is faded, but you can see the logo enough to know. The babiche weaving is in incredibly good condition. Their design suggests recreational use with heavy loads. These are durable wooden frames and the rawhide is strong - these snowshoes were built to last. Beautiful and original dark leather bindings.
