Offered for sale is this one-of-a-kind wooden sled with Gen. Grant 1866 and hand painted picture on sled board. The picture depicts a mountain man pulling a tree.  The sled measures appr. 37" long, 11 1/2" wide and is 6 1/2" tall. It is in good condition with an irreplaceable sled board. There is a small crack in the board that runs the full length of the board.  It is tighter on top than it is on the bottom.  This does not take away anything from the sled.  The underside has thin pieces of metal that are shaped over the wooden runners.  There is metal and wooden supports underneath the sled.  For it's age it is in pretty good condition.  There is normal wear, paint loss, a few small dingers, and minor scratching on the board.  At some point in it's life, a long time ago, somebody painted the supports and under carriage a milky red.  It has been In one family in New Hampshire for 4 decades.  This is the 1st time it has been put up for sale in over 40 years.  It could definitely be the highlight of anybodies sled museum or the holy grail for General Grant collector's.  When you decide to buy this you will not be disappointed.
